Gas Processor’s Association (GPA) Annual Convention Presentation - March 2010

Greenhouse Gas Inventory Reporting, Regulation and Legislation: How Will it Affect Gas Processors and Suppliers? The 2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act required EPA to develop a mandatory, nationwide, greenhous gas ("GHG") reporting rule ("MRR"). The act requires reporting from a large nationwide contingency of industry including both upstream production and downstream sources. The information gathered will be used in the development of future climate change programs. This is the first sweeping Federal, nationwide, non-voluntary GHG regulation in effect. Scott Hyden presents this paper to outline the chain reaction of events which led to existing GHG regulatory initiatives under the Clean Air Act and the GHG MRR, as it relates to gas processors and suppliers, and the parallel path of proposed GHG legislation.

Governor's Economic Development Group Presentation

Through the support of CenterPoint Energy, Spirit Environmental provided a presentation for members of Governor Rick Perry’s Economic Development Office as well as economic development professionals representing several key Texas communities at the Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas, on 30 October 2007.  This presentation was designed to provide basic tools needed to identify potential air permitting and compliance issues and to provide sufficient background in air emissions management. The ultimate goal of the presentation was to dispel the opinion that “nothing new can be built” in areas of Texas with air pollution problems and replace it with the opinion that growth is achievable in these areas with the application of creativity and cooperation.
